The Radar Analog & Power (RAP) Department at Raytheon is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electronics Technician to support our laboratory this role you will be responsible for testing documenting and troubleshooting analog and power electronics assemblies and high voltage transmitter systems including Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs). This hardware serves various critical functions with applications ranging from RF systems to high-voltage and high-current systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of working independently and is committed to deepening their advanced expertise in analog and power electronics.

RAPis responsible for design product and production support engineering in the following areas:

  • Power System Design- Power System Noise System Simulation and Modeling Solid State Transmitters Tube Transmitters High Voltage Design Power Sources Generators
  • Power Conversion- AC/DC DC/DC and DC/AC Linear and Switching Supplies Power Factor Correction (PFC) Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) Resonant Circuits Synchronization Noise Controls
  • Power Distribution- Ground Air Naval Shipboard and Space Power Generation Line Voltage High Current Low Voltage Micro-Power DC AC Multi-Phase Power Control Fault Reporting Isolation Protection Circuits Redundant Systems
  • Power Sub-System Design- Filters Harmonic Control EMI Circuit Simulation Magnetics Protective Relay Systems Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
  • Control Systems Servo Control Systems Motor/Power/Process Control Digital Feedback Systems Command Generation Inertial Stabilization Navigation Algorithms

This position is an on-site role. Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with engineering teams in both lab and field environments supporting Naval RF and power products including supporting legacy products.
  • Various facets of testing presenting technical data to engineers for review.
  • Work witha variety oftest equipment including spectrum analyzersRF Power metershigh and low AC and DC voltage power sources
  • Monitor and document test results equipment performance anomalies for engineering review and quality assurance.
  • Support integration activities including system-level testing and troubleshooting.
  • Develop update and maintain documentation including schematics specifications work instructions and other job aids ensuring accuracy to support project requirements
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on transmitter systems and related components.
  • Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance and regulatory safety standards.
  • Travel to Tewksbury MA; Andover MA; and/or Pelham NH may be required depending on the assignment.
  • Travel including CONUS OCONUS and at-sea assignments.

Qualifications you must have

  • Typically requires a B.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years minimum experience in electronics electrical hardware fabrication bread boarding test troubleshooting and the ability to read technical documentation or an A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology and minimum of 7 years of relevant absence of a degree minimum of 9 years of relevant experience is typically required.
  • Experience with high voltage electronics and knowledge of the unique safety issues working with high voltage systems as a requirement
  • Experience using a variety of power and digital test equipment to verify electronics performance including oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers RF power probes/meters function generators and AC/DC power sources.

Qualifications we prefer

  • Experience working with RF electronic components and RF waveguides.
  • Experience with high voltage electronics that support Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) transmitters
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Hands-on experience with ACor DC high voltage and high current
  • Experience working with 10kV or greater
  • Strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to write detailed test reports
  • Experience working in engineering and manufacturing environments
  • Experience troubleshooting/servicing field equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience in a DoD environment
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

    The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
