The Wisconsin Union often referred to as the heart and soul of the University of Wisconsin-Madison has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1928 when the doors to Memorial Union opened the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students faculty staff members and visitors through shared cultural social and recreational events and experiences.

Employee schedule will vary depending on event schedule. Shifts will range from early morning to late evening. Events are often scheduled 7 days a week.
Minimum Hour Expectation
A minimum of 10 hours a week is expected with some exceptions. Weeks will vary in event shift times are 5 hours however some shifts may be shorter or longer depending on event load per day.
Unit Hours
Events are scheduled 7 days a week from early morning (6am) to late evening (11pm)
Unit Location
This position will be based out of Pyle Center located at 702 Langdon St Madison WI 53706. While Pyle Center is the main area of focus there may be instances where work will be required in other Union buildings which include but are not limited to: Memorial Union and Unions South
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $16.00 to $16.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Set up/ break down connect and adjust audio visual equipment/ software in various spaces for events academic instruction or meetings according to established requirements and requests.
Performs basic and routine equipment checks to ensure proper functionality.
Provide technical support to clients.
Follow equipment storage guidelines by maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Ability to work in both team and self-guided settings.
Qualifications:
Flexible schedule ability to work nights/ weekends (required)
Experience with basic AV technology speakers microphones computers and cameras (preferred)
Customer/ guest services and event experience (preferred)
This position requires standing lifting (up to 50lbs) bending crouching working on ladders hand dexterity and other similar physical activities.
Candidates will be considered regardless of experience. An interest in learning AV technology and event production is important and recognized.
