YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is a tuition-free public charter high school with a singular focus on supporting youth aged 17-20 who have been pushed out of traditional schools. During our 1-year alternative program Youthbuild facilitates a warm loving culture that uses a variety of structures to build community such as a restorative-justice approach to discipline weekly community meetings and school-wide service projects. Students are empowered to attain their high school diploma and vocational certifications while receiving unconditional support by the staff around them. The Opportunity:
The YouthBuild Finance Manager reports to the Controller and collaborates with them to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the YouthBuild Philadelphia (YBP) accounting system and related reports. This includes assisting YBP Program Directors submitting financial data to the Finance Committee Board of Directors and other third parties and ensuring all government and non-government grant compliance requirements are completed. This role may oversee up to one full-time equivalent (FTE) in the Finance Department.

- A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Three to five years of work experience in Accounting or Financial Reporting (experience with non-profits or grants preferred).
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Certify AP preferred.
- You are excellent with establishing priorities coordinating work activities multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
What Youll Do:
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local legal and funding requirements by researching existing and new legislation consulting with outside advisors and filing financials reports.
- Monitor and oversee compliance with cost allowability financial reporting and other requirements for restricted grants (federal state and local) contracts and donations.
- Monitor and reconcile School District revenue with student enrollment.
- Prepare and file the Annual Financial Report and General Fund Budget with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Oversee proper expense and revenue classification based on grantor guidelines and monitor budgetary controls of grants and contracts.
- Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting finance and accounting to increase innovation cost-effectiveness and ensure compliance.
- Work closely with the Controller prepare and effectively communicate financial information to the Senior Leadership Team Finance Committee Board of Directors and other parties.
- Manage monthly and yearly close procedures with the assistance of the Junior Accountant.
- Review and analyze cash accounts credit cards electronic funds transfers and general ledger accounts as assigned.
- Enter and maintain invoices record journal entries and other financial activity into automated accounting systems.
- Manage the organization and grant budgets; meeting with Department Directors monthly to review their individual departmental budgets.
- Train staff on the comprehension and analysis of financial data as necessary.
- Coordinate and work closely with external financial statement auditors from planning to report generation.
- Manage and coordinate with 3rd party tax preparers for the issuance of the Form 990.
- Review employee payroll and benefits in Paylocity in line with Organization Policies.
- Serve as a contact person for day-to-day finance operations.
- Provide staff training and/or coaching as needed.

Salary Range:
New YouthBuild staff can expect a starting salary of between $65000-$82500 based on years of experience education and certifications if applicable.
