About the company

Remote World is partnering with a payments fintech processing cross-border transactions for UK SMEs a UK-based employer to hire for this role. They help UK businesses pay overseas suppliers in 30 currencies with same-day settlement and are processing over Â2B annually.

The role

Youll build the Go microservices that handle payment routing FX conversion and reconciliation. Working in a backend-focused team youll implement new payment rails improve service reliability and maintain the event-driven architecture that keeps transactions flowing.

What youll do

• Build and maintain payment microservices in Go
• Implement new payment rail integrations following internal API contracts
• Write unit and integration tests with high coverage expectations
• Monitor service health and investigate payment failures
• Contribute to internal engineering design docs and RFCs

What youll need

• Hands-on Go experience youve built something real with it
• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with SQL and database transactions
• You write tests and document what you build
• Good async written communication

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka or NATS for messaging
• Familiarity with payments concepts (ISO 20022 SWIFT)
