Description:
Develop maintain and enhance complex and diverse Big-Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements. Contribute to all stages of back-end processing analyzing and indexing. Provide expertise in Cloud Computing including implementing Java applications Distributed Computing Information Retrieval (IR) and Object Oriented Design. Work independently or as part of a team. Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results. Resolve software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provide specific input to software components of a system design in place of new development to include hardware/software trade-offs software reuse use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the shelf (GOTS) and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Due to federal contract requirements United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with customer appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities:
- Modify existing software to correct errors to adapt to new hardware or to improve its performance
- Design and code (e.g. Java C C#) new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments to include cloud technologies
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Confer with system engineers and/or hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities performance requirements and interfaces
- Serve as the team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project
- Serve as the technical lead of multiple software teams
- Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph
- Twelve (12) years experience as a Cloud Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required.
- Experience with open source (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed massively parallel computation such as Hbase CloudBase/Acumulo Big Table Docker and Kubernetes.
- Five (5) years experience developing software for Windows (XP Vista) or UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
- Six (6) years experience developing software with high level languages such as Java C C.
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Cloud Software Engineer experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
Salary Range:$100000.00 - $300000.00(Annually)
Annual Compensation Figures listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; annual hours worked; education; relevant prior work experience knowledge skills and competencies; certifications and geographic location.
