Description
The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine (A&PM) has an advanced practice provider position (ARNP/PA-C) available as a Teaching Associate. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month services periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is full-time with an anticipated start date is March 2026 or soon thereafter. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The base salary range for this position will be: $10917 - $12750 per month ($131004 - $153000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a US Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The successful candidate will be part of the inpatient pain consultation services at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). As the birthplace of modern Pain Medicine A&PM continues this legacy through excellent pain care to enable patients and the community to achieve the best outcomes and attain the highest quality of life and function in the face of pain. Be part of this important work which includes overnight coverage of both inpatient acute pain and chronic pain services (7pm-7am) averaging between 10-12 shifts per month with internal cross-coverage responsibility. Work involves management of multi-modal pain regimens as well as epidural and regional anesthesia catheters. The schedule provides flexibility allowing for days off and may include future opportunities for daytime work. The ARNP/PA-C works independently and collaboratively with a variety of A&PM faculty UWMC staff as well as residents and fellows.

Qualifications
Must have a graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant program. Must be a nationally certified ARNP/PA. Must be eligible for ARNP or PA licensure in the state of Washington.
