Leidos Defense Systems Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test is seeking a motivated and ambitious Mid-Level Software Engineerto join the Software Simulation Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Technology and Certification position Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. You will also develop solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs hands-on software system development from lab to field application

• Determines computing system requirements

• Analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent output requirements input data acquisition programming techniques and controls

• Prepares operating instructions

• Designs and develops autonomous services desktop applications scripts and utility programs. End product is special use and customized software

• Participates in technical design sessions and collaborates with stakeholders to establish the foundational architecture for new software applications

• Develops rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept applications to validate design decisions and mitigate technical risks early in the development lifecycle

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 6-12 years professional software development experienceor MS degree in computer science or related technical degree plus 2-8 years professional software development experience

• Proficiencyin C# and ecosystem (equivalent Java experience may be substituted)

• Experience with software application architectural design patterns and decision-making for scalable maintainable applications

• Experience with system integration message handling and data exchange protocols

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle version control and agile methodologies

• Good understanding of markup languages (e.g. XML YAML HTML)

• Good understanding ofDevSecOpspractices and CI/CD pipelines

• Good understanding of API inputs and outputs

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices

• Strong analytical and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and projects and to work independently

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Must be able toobtain and maintaina Secret clearance.

• Must be a resident of Huntsville AL or willing torelocateto the Huntsville AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiencyin one or more of the following scripting languages: Bash Python or PowerShell

• Experience with containerization (Docker Kubernetes) microservices or cloud-based architectures

• Effective written and oral communication skills are alsorequiredto work with all levels of staff and managers

• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office
