Experienced Level and Senior Level Mechanical Support Equipment Design Engineer

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced Level and Senior Level Mechanical Support Equipment Design Engineer to support the Mechanical/Electrical Ground Support Systems in Everett WA.

Ideal candidates would have Ground Support Equipment (GSE) aircraft and mechanical design knowledge in support of KC-46 and other Air Force Programs (Domestic and Foreign). This design position requires project management and design experience to design develop and manufacture of KC-46 Ground Support Equipment.

Provides critical support of fielded hardware the entire product lifecycle. Assists with the development and documentation of mechanical system requirements and GSE design environment. Develops or modifies basic hardware designs based on defined requirements. Evaluates GSE drawings and supplier tests to verify operational and functional requirements. Assists in monitoring suppliers performance to ensure compliance with requirements. Supports resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies. Researches basic technologies for potential application to company business needs.

Position Responsibilities:

• Research and interpret engineering changes and data to develop Support Equipment requirements. Engineering
• Data includes drawing specs CATIA/CAD models Installation Plans (IP CARMS) Tool Usage Instructions (TUIs.)
• Develop Ground Support Equipment System Layout Assembly drawings and Bill of Material/Parts List creation
• Research engineering data using engineering tools/database such as IVT CATIA ENOVIA REDARS PSDS
• Develop and manage GSE using PDM/ENOVIA
• Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate GSE solutions And able to influence change as needed.
• Develop and review VECTOR Service Bulletins related to Service Bulletin including COSP/Safety Assessment
• Able to effectively communicate external and internal customers as required
• Make use of and applies extensive knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical mechanical and/or systems
• Works under direction and willing to get clarification
• Determine Service Bulletin error engineering solutions requested additional information or data for KC-46Asupport

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical Civil Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• 3 years of experience with preparing and coordinating technical documentation (engineering drawings specifications statements of work technical manuals etc.) and/or experience in business analysis financial analysis managerial accounting or estimating
• 3 years of experience in mechanical and structural design using Catia V5
• 3 years of experience accurately and productively reviewing commenting resolving and approving technical designs and data packages
• Experience developing requirements for systems engineering processes
• Travel domestically and internationally
  

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5 years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college university technical school licensing/certification programs etc.)
• Experience with the REDARS system
• Experience with any of the following production systems: DCAC/PDM CDW DELMIA ENOVIA ERPLN Velocity
• Experience working with any of the following Customers: Department of Defense (DoD) International Customers NATO; or the United States Air Force (USAF)
• Experience across all phases of support equipment development lifecycle including design development production acquisition and sustainment
• 5 years of experience participating in engineering design activities or design projects
