As a Power BI Developer within our Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) department you will be responsible for creating and delivering reporting and insight solutions and data visualisations.
You will play a key role in the implementation of Microsoft Power BI across the Service ensuring consistent visually appealing dashboards are demonstrated produced and explained to staff across the service. You will define and translate business specifications into powerful BI solutions allowing our users to make evidence-based decisions.
Responsibilities
- design build and deploy BI solutions translating business needs into technical specifications
- maintain design and develop the data warehouse schemas and ETL solutions to satisfy reporting requirements
- develop document and maintain Dataflows and other analysis services (e.g. DAX) models to ensure high performance
- troubleshoot BI environment and software problems to maintain the availability of business-critical data
- collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers regarding source data and future database upgrades.
Experience and skills
Essential
- proven experience as an MS Power BI Developer (minimum 12 months)
- knowledge of SQL queries DAX Power query SSIS and API Data sources
- proven experience in designing developing and maintaining and monitoring of ETL functions
- analytical and able to quickly assess issues translate complex business requirements and implement solutions.
- Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certification
- business awareness and specific knowledge of organisational drivers and structures
- experience delivering end user training and system documentation.
