CSG / Bioresearch & Veterinary Services

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Open-ended (permanent)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to undertake day-to-day housekeeping cleaning within our Bioresearch & Veterinary Services facilities. Responsibilities include essential sterilisation support in the wash-up areas such as cleaning used rodent cages and rodent drinking water bottles. The role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. There are no minimum qualifications though knowledge of animal welfare and husbandry is advantageous. You will be primarily based at Kings Buildings with potential requirements to cover colleagues leave at the Edinburgh Bioquarter Easter Bush Western General and George Square.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety particularly manual handling. Ability to lift 22 Kgs and push cage racks weighing 90 130 Kgs.
  • Familiarity with standard IT equipment and basic computer skills to complete online training sessions send/receive emails and request annual leave.
