Job Title: Pharmacist Hospital Pharmacy
Location: Hyannis MA
Duration: 26 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours/week Primarily 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM occasional 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM; every other weekend and holidays
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy operations by preparing dispensing and managing medications in accordance with federal state and institutional standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe and effective medication use and provides clinical drug information support to physicians and nursing staff during evening and overnight shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dispense and manage medications in compliance with regulatory and hospital guidelines
- Review medication orders for accuracy appropriateness dosing scheduling and compatibility
- Compound pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures and TPN following established protocols
- Ensure proper labeling storage and documentation of all medications
- Manage distribution and control of medications to patient care units and authorized areas
- Supervise and assign tasks to pharmacy support staff as needed
- Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare teams
- Perform medication order entry and clinical verification during evening and night shifts
- Stay current with pharmaceutical advancements and best practices
- Deliver high-quality service to patients families and healthcare staff
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License
- Experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred
- Proficient in pharmacy systems and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment during off-shift hours
