Position Summary
The AACSB-accredited College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a full-time non tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Economics to begin Fall 2026.
Preferred candidates will have teaching interests and experience in several of the following areas:MacroeconomicsMoney andBankingBusiness andEconomic ForecastingEconometrics U.S.EconomicHistory and Public Finance. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience teaching macroeconomics money and banking and/or business and economic forecasting including online delivery.
Qualified candidates whodemonstratea commitment to excellence in teaching student advising professional development intellectual contributions and service in an inclusive and diverse environment are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate economics courses including possible online and hybrid assignments.
- Advise and support students in ways that promote retention engagement and academic success.
- Contribute positively to the department the College of Business and the broader university community.
- Perform other duties consistent with the role.
The successful candidate willdemonstratea strong interest in working with a diverse student body and supporting student success in undergraduate economics education.
Required Qualifications
MA/MS in Economics or a closely related field
Teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: MacroeconomicsMoney andBankingBusiness andEconomic ForecastingEconometrics U.S.EconomicHistory and Public Finance
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Economics or a closely related field
Evidence of teaching excellence and ongoing scholarly or professional engagement
Teaching interests and experience in several of the following areas:MacroeconomicsMoney andBankingBusiness and EconomicForecastingEconometrics U.S. Economic History and Public Finance
Experience developing and teachingMacroeconomics Business andEconomicForecastingEconometrics and/or related courses in online or hybrid formats ideally using software such as STATA R and/or Python
Salary for Announcement
The annual salary range for this faculty position is $85000 - $92000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors including but not limitedtointernal equity education experiencespecialtyand training.
