Job Title: Expeditor
Location: Rustenburg
Job Type: 12 month contract expected to work Full-Time hours
Job Duties:
1. Tracking Orders and Deliveries
An expeditor ensures that materials equipment or services are delivered on time. They monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to avoid delays.
2. Supplier Coordination
They act as the link between the company and supplierschecking progress confirming timelines and resolving issues that could impact delivery.
3. Schedule Management
Expeditors make sure procurement aligns with the project schedule. If something is late they escalate and push for faster turnaround.
4. Problem Solving
When delays or shortages occur the expeditor finds solutionsalternative suppliers revised delivery plans or prioritising critical items.
5. Documentation & Reporting
They maintain records of orders delivery dates and supplier performance and provide regular updates to project managers or procurement teams.
6. Quality & Compliance Checks
In some roles they verify that goods meet required specifications before dispatch or upon arrival.
7. Site Coordination (in construction/projects)
They ensure materials arrive at the right place at the right time and in the correct quantities to avoid site downtime.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management Logistics or Procurement
Experience:
5 Years experience as an expeditor
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Excellent follow-up and persistence
Good planning and organisational ability
Attention to detail
Problem-solving and ability to handle pressure
Computer literacy (Excel email reporting)
Must have experience in SAP
