Overall Requirements:
The QA/QC Specialist ensures that all products processes and systems meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections managing calibration programs maintaining compliance documentation and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Conduct incoming in-process and final inspections on electronic systems and military-grade cable assemblies for harsh environment applications.
Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and collaborate with Operations to ensure compliance with specifications.
Troubleshoot assembly and product quality issues accurately document non-conformances and categorize failures for analysis.
Develop implement and maintain quality systems procedures and documentation in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 and internal standards.
Maintain compliance documentation to meet regulatory customer and internal requirements.
Serve as a key contributor during internal and external audits ensuring readiness of records and supporting corrective actions.
Coordinate and oversee calibration and ESD compliance activities to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
Perform calibration and qualification testing on workbenches tools and test equipment to verify accuracy and functionality.
Investigate non-conformances determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Collaborate with Engineering on NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives to provide quality input.
Determine quality-related training needs and deliver training to staff promoting a culture of quality awareness.
Assist with provision of quality and environmental metrics against defined parameters.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering or related field and/or
3 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing organization
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using common handheld inspection instruments
Proficiency in ISO 9001 environment and internal auditing
Experience with data trending final inspections and reporting to support continuous improvement
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies including root cause analysis CAPA audits and trend analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Internal ISO Auditor Qualification and/or Certification is an asset
Experienced with IPC610/IPC620 Trainer accreditation is an asset
Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen training considered an asset
Highly organized detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong time management skills
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to train lead and motivate others while collaborating effectively across teams and with customers
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
