The Survivor Experiences Service provides a safe traumainformed and culturally responsive space for Survivors of abuse in state and faithbased care to share their experiences and access support. Since launching in 2023 the Service has played a crucial role in facilitating healing supporting Survivors to locate personal records and building trusted relationships with Māori Pacific Peoples disabled people and Deaf communities across Aotearoa.
From July 2025 our focus is on strengthening enduring partnerships and ensuring our core services continue to meet Survivor needs guided by listening care and collaboration. Our work is grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the spirit of service to our communities.
The role Te tūnga
Were looking for a highly organised and professional Service Support Assistant to provide dependable and confidential executive and administrative support to the Executive Director Leadership Team and Board of the Survivor Experiences Service.
Based in Wellington this role is central to keeping the Service running smoothly managing diaries and meetings supporting Board operations preparing highquality documentation and overseeing financial and administrative processes. Youll be a trusted partner who anticipates needs manages competing priorities with confidence and enables leaders to focus on delivering impactful outcomes for Survivors.
This is a busy varied role ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment values teamwork and takes pride in delivering highquality support.
What you bring Nōu te rourou
Youll bring a mix of experience capability and personal attributes including:
- Proven executive and administrative support experience ideally in a fastpaced or complex organisation
- Exceptional organisation and timemanagement skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills working confidently with senior leaders boards and diverse stakeholders
- High attention to detail and professionalism including experience preparing documents minutes and correspondence to a high standard
- Sound financial and systems capability including invoicing purchase orders and confidence using office and financial systems
- A proactive flexible and servicefocused approach with integrity discretion and a positive cando mindset
