Position Summary

Blackbird Health is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Centreville VA. Youll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations treatment planning and medication management for children adolescents and young adults and be empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families.

Employment Options Available

Part-time position for licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.

W-2 Employee - Part-Time (20 hours/week)

  • Commitment: 20 hours per week total: 17 clinical hours 3 administrative hours
  • Schedule: Flexible within business needs emphasizing after 4pm weekdays and weekends
  • Work Model: Hybrid
    • Minimum 10 clinical hours onsite at Media clinic
    • Remaining 7 clinical hours can be conducted remotely
    • 3 administrative hours completed remotely

Compensation & Benefits

Total Earning Potential: Up to $175000 annually

This role offers a rare combination of income stability and growth potentiala guaranteed base salary with the flexibility to increase your earnings based on your availability and interest.

Base Salary: $72500 for part-time schedule (20 hours/week)

  • Guaranteed income with predictable scheduling
  • 17 clinical hours (minimum 10 onsite at Blackbird Health Clinic 7 can be remote) 3 administrative hours per week
  • Minimum 10 hours during core hours (afternoons & evenings ET weekdays and/or weekends)
  • Administrative hours completed remotely

Additional Earnings: Earn $100 per clinical hour for additional patients beyond your base caseload

  • Flexibility to increase income based on your availability and interest
  • Additional hours can be conducted virtually

How youll make an impact:

  • Provide Comprehensive Psychiatric Care: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations assessments and diagnoses for children adolescents and young adults. Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management that addresses the unique needs of each patient.
  • Build Meaningful Therapeutic Relationships: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences educate them about treatment options and provide ongoing support. Build connection and trust that keeps patients engaged in their care journey.
  • Drive Patient Progress & Safety: Monitor patient progress against care goals adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure positive outcomes. Take the necessary steps to keep patients safe intervening proactively when concerns arise.
  • Collaborate for Integrated Care: Work closely with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans that address the whole child. Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings to ensure coordinated high-quality care.
  • Educate & Empower Families: Provide consultation and education to patients and their families helping them understand diagnoses treatment options and how to support their childs mental health journey.
  • Ensure Clinical Excellence & Compliance: Oversee diagnostic testing including digital and lab results. Maintain thorough HIPAA-compliant records of patient meetings and progress.

The basics youll need:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • PMHNP-BC certification
  • At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure
  • Active Virginia PMHNP/APRN license
  • DEA license State Prescriptive Authority andAutonomous Practice Status
  • Own your own phone computer and high-speed internet
  • Flexibility to work during Blackbirds core after-school hours: after 4pm ET during the week and/or weekends
  • Ability to work onsite at Media clinic for minimum 10 clinical hours per week
