This Sr. Principal Backup and Storage System Administrators based in Plano TX will collaborate with many teams to support exciting critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop implement and maintain secure cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows andRed HatEnterprise Linux environment.
  • Linux Server management to include installation configuration and maintenance.
  • Windows Server management fundamentals to include DNS DHCP AD and server replication methods.
  • Design build configure install monitor and support the scalable physical and virtual backup environment.
  • Manage backup operations to include scheduling and monitoring jobs troubleshooting failures and monitoring completion and storage capacity.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plan to include data restoration system recovery and business continuity.
  • Design implement and maintain storage systems to ensure data integrity availability and optimal performance.
  • Perform capacity planning and performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Provide advanced support on L3/L4 tickets and troubleshoot technical issues reported by users.
  • Administer and optimize virtualization platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance on implementation integrations and upgrade initiatives
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations procedures and best practices.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
  • Travel is required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or advanced degree and 5 years of direct experience
  • Must have active and transferable clearance level required U.S. government issued top security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have Linux experience and Windows
  • Experience with NFS CIFS/SMB iSCSI and Fiber Channel protocols.
  • Experience with data RAID data backup uses and technologies.
  • Must have experience in one of the following: VMware vCenter vSphere VDI (Horizon) ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Scripting experience
  • Experience with developing documentation and communicate technical processes.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift Kubernetes Docker Tanzu and Rancher.
  • Experience with Continuous IntegrationContinuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with NISPOM JAFAN JSIG DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • In-depth working experience with Windows Server.
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions Centrify.
  • Experience with data storage NAS and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience with using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience usingVMWare vCenter vSphere and ESXand/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software simulations and hardware development.
  • Experience with Commvault Veeam or NetBackup.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
