Special Education Teacher Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Develop implement and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and state standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers related service providers (SLPs OTs PTs) and families
• Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
• Ensure compliance with federal state and district special education regulations
• Participate in IEP meetings team meetings and professional development
• Foster an inclusive supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Special Education (minimum)
• Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs preferred
• Strong communication organization and collaboration skills
