Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Thunder Bay ON Full-Time Salary Bonus

About the Role
Our client in the Pulp and Paper industry is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to provide supervision and direction to unionized mill maintenance personnel and external contractors. You will work to maximize production quality and equipment uptime while minimizing maintenance costs and unscheduled downtime. This is an ideal role for a leader with a passion for operational excellence continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with health safety and environmental laws and regulations
Lead mentor and coach a unionized maintenance team to optimize productivity and adherence to company policies
Coordinate scheduled routine and preventative mechanical maintenance functions
Work closely with operations and planners to complete maintenance tasks efficiently
Promote continuous improvement across health & safety efficiency production and maintenance cost metrics
Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and guidance
Qualifications
Red Seal trade certificate diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering or at least 2 years supervising trades in a unionized industrial environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen coach and integrate feedback
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills including planning prioritizing and delegating work
Proficient in MS Office and experience using a CMMS
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
