Position Overview:

Job Description:

• Installation of engines onto the dynamometer
• Perform more complex and specialized mechanical or electrical tests on the components
• Understand and communicate the final test data to the appropriate individuals
• Complete tests and either approve the component for shipping or reject the component and provide detailed feedback to the assembly area to the corrective action required
• Ability to perform engine post-dyno work when required

Qualifications:

• HET Journeyperson ticket or interprovincial Red Seal is required.
• A minimum of 6 months working Service Bay or EMP Level 3 and/or Assembly or Inspection Level 4.
• Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C.
• Multiple years experience in the heavy equipment engine field working on preferably Caterpillar components (disassembly subassembly inspection assembly service bay or test).
• Experience diagnosing / troubleshooting engine failures.
• Demonstrated understanding of engine systems and can apply that knowledge.
• Previous knowledge of operating similar dynos is preferred.
• Strong computer skills: Word Excel SIS TMI WOT and Cat ET.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
• Able to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.

Note:

• This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday Thursday; 10 hours per day
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

• Hourly Rate: $53.05 - $56.23 / Hour
