Candidates must be committed to high-quality teaching in the area of psychosocial aspects of sport and physical activity. Primary duties and responsibilities are to teach undergraduate courses in: Sport and Gender; Sports Media and United States Popular Culture and Sport and Physical Activity Throughout Civilizations. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The anticipated hiring range for a finalist with a masters degree is $67404 - $71508 annually. The anticipated hiring range for a finalist with a doctorate degree is $78432 - $89772 annually. |
Required Qualifications - Masters degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science Sport and Exercise Psychology or closely related field is required.
- Masters degree must be conferred and official transcripts received before August 17 2026.
- Must have ability to teach undergraduate courses in the following areas: Sport and Gender Sports Media and United States Popular Culture and Sport and Physical Activity Throughout Civilizations and other courses in the department including Introduction to Kinesiology Sport and Performance Psychology and Applied Sport and Performance Psychology.

Preferred Qualifications - Doctorate in Kinesiology Exercise Science Sport and Exercise Psychology or closely related field is preferred.
- University teaching experience using face to face online and hybrid delivery.
- Experience or the ability to supervise undergraduate research.

There are approximately 710 undergraduate students 16 full time faculty 2 full time lecturers 35 part time faculty and 5 support staff. The mission of the Kinesiology and Public Health (KPH) Department is to promote physical activity and health for all through excellence in teaching research and service. The Center for Health Research (CHR) is a University Research Center housed within the Department of Kinesiology and Public Health that includes several ongoing multi-million-dollar NIH-funded research grants. Projects include several long-term prospective human research studies involving hundreds of community participants dozens of local community contracts and partners and several national and international partners. There are 20-50 undergraduate and graduate students conducting independent research in any given quarter.
