Job Description
For over 30 years Gilead has been a leading innovator in treating and preventing HIV but this expertise is just a foundation for our ambitions. As a Senior Manager IT Sourcing & Contract Management you will be responsible for leading Global Sourcing and Contract Management activities associated with information technology including but not limited to software hardware and IT services. You will be responsible for oversight of team executing sourcing projects across the company to achieve optimal total cost of ownership driving best-in-class global Procurement aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational leadership of managed service provider responsible for leading simple to complex sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations across indirect Procurement categories including but not limited to software hardware and IT services.
Consult with cross functional teams to execute sourcing projects and contract negotiations associated and aligned with enterprise-wide category strategies delivering value through cost savings risk mitigation improved quality and delivery.
Collaborate with the Global Procurement Category & Sourcing Excellence function to drive adoption of best practices frameworks and standardized processes and tools while ensuring policy compliance and minimizing supply risk.
Partner with the Supplier Programs function to integrate business diversity and responsible procurement into overall value proposition.
Monitor managed service provider performance and KPIs. Partner with internal functions to manage escalations mitigate risks and issues and implement improvement plans.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders cross functional teams and business stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment and support.
Foster a culture of inclusion results orientation psychological safety to optimize team performance.
Nurture a climate of psychological safety and empower team members to feel like they can speak up propose new and different ways of working and most importantly grow and advance in a career path in Procurement as well as Gilead overall.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 8 years of relevant experience; OR
Masters degree and 6 years of relevant experience; OR
PhD and 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA / CMA qualification is preferred.
MBA degree is preferred.
Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus.
Experience in multi-national organization a plus.
8 years Strategic Sourcing/Procurement experience Category Management Contract Negotiation Performance Measurement Contract Negotiation Project Management Business Analysis Change Management experience.
Experience leading and managing procurement leaders & teams with a focus on performance management.
In-depth knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing processes organization technology required.
Demonstrates exceptional business acumen and outstanding judgement.
Proven track record of applying procurement principles concepts best practices and standards along with an in-depth knowledge of industry practices required.
Strong leadership presence and negotiation/contract management experience.
Extensive knowledge and experience with procurement/spend systems data and analysis to drive decision making.
Experience working with and leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously across a matrixed organization.
Meets Gileads leadership commitments with demonstrated experience in applying these principles.
