This is a non-coaching position which will coordinate the operational aspects of the womens hockey program by assisting with video operations budget oversight game and practice scheduling recruiting visits travel planning and community service coordination. This position also includes video coordination at home and on the road and works closely with the areas of ticketing video/creative content and marketing.
Oversee travel coordination for womens hockey program. This includes developing a budget for annual travel seeking bids per university policy to develop cost estimates and securing travel accommodations (lodging meals transportation equipment etc.) They will also work directly with the coaching staff to arrange recruiting travel accommodations assist in organization and implementing all game and practice scheduling for the womens program and assist in developing team competition schedules including completion of game contracts and adhere to budget parameters and finance policies and procedures including submission of paperwork/documentation in a timely fashion. Also required to design processes to annually review competencies in work they oversee. Must be able to redesign work as necessary to meet changing budget requirements and to ensure competitive success. 35%
Prepare and supervise special video and/or administrative projects and support as requested by womens hockey coaching staff. Coordinate film exchange with non-conference and conference opponents. Oversee all audio visual and technical needs for the womens hockey staff. Assist in research and decision-making related to video equipment serve as the liaison to video equipment provider to maintain equipment and trouble shoot issues. Provide oversight and training for graduate assistants interns and student workers for womens hockey operations. And manage small scale productions and highlight video for special events. 35%
Assist in coordinating special events related to womens hockey. Assist with annual alumni events including golf fundraiser alumni games and alumni outreach. Assist in scheduling/organizing community engagement events (Skate with the Huskies youth clinics community service projects etc.). And assist with summer camps. 20%
Perform other duties as necessary to build support for and add value to the objectives and goals of the University department of Athletics and the womens hockey program including but not limited to assist in monitoring student-athlete academic progress and assist in communication with conference office related to schedules travel and video programming. 10%
Salary Range: $47607 - $93342/annually
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree plus one year of professional experience in athletic administration coaching ticketing budgeting video operations or related field or Bachelors degree plus two years of professional experience in athletic administration coaching ticketing budgeting video operations or related field.
Progressive experience in competitive athletics environment (student-athlete student manager professional athlete video coordinator etc.)
Knowledge and understanding of competitive Division I mens and womens hockey including general program operations recruiting and game day protocols
Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise tact and diplomacy and ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong background with a variety of computer software applications in word processing spreadsheets database and presentation software
Preferred experience in video editing software specifically DVSports or other similar product
Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize and complete tasks by established deadlines
Must be available for overnight and weekend travel.
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of or ability to learn: NCAA WCHA institutional federal and state rules and regulations; procedures to apply NCAA and WCHA rules and regulations.
The ability to: perform accurate detail-oriented work; manage multiple tasks simultaneously; apply standard accounting practices and procedures; provide basic supervisory techniques with student employees; make administrative/procedural decisions and sound judgments; reason recall analyze and organize information to make substantive and sometimes complex decisions reaching reasonable conclusions within scope of authority; comprehend potential issues and address them before they become problematic; function professionally in highly stressful situations to provide clear information on an impromptu basis to individuals or groups of people; meet continuous project deadlines.
Demonstration of: Strong interpersonal/communication skills (both orally and in writing) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor; Commitment to diversity and fairness through interactions with student-athletes and various other internal and external constituents.
Other Requirements
This position requires significant weekend and evening assignments and must be on-call throughout the year.
