From seed to leaf we grow lettuce smarter with less space no pesticides and protected inside so its better for the planet and way better for humans. BrightFarms fresh lettuce options from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits are available in more than 4500 retail stores across the East Coast Midwest and South.

Our Macon Georgia farm is the most advanced greenhouse in the state delivering fresh locally grown leafy greens to Georgians. Spanning nearly 480000 square feet this facility will produce approximately 6 million pounds of leafy greens annually.

Specifically you will:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage Production processes to ensure the quality of our product consistency maintaining SQF requirements
  • Collect routine EMP samples(water samples swabs product samples and media samples)
  • Train and verify effectiveness of relevant food safety & quality programs to operators and leadership
  • Oversee the sites pest control management system and conduct regular reviews of the system
  • Lead site audits and inspections both external (ex. SQF) and internal
  • Support the farms in implementation of food safety regulations and policies
  • Perform site GMP inspections and perform required drills & exercises
  • Standardize best practices and creates forms necessary to collect KPIs
  • Verify and review completion of food safety records
  • Manage the farms food safety plan
  • Have a willingness and desire to assist in unrelated and/or unassigned tasks to ensure the effective operation of the Greenhouse
  • Perform risk assessments and advise leadership on appropriate recommendations
  • Lead corrective action efforts in identifying RCA and effectively implementing CAPAs
  • Work cross functionally to safely implement new processes programs and equipment
  • Build and support a strong food safety culture
  • Complete other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate:

  • Have a 4-year degree in related discipline (Agriculture food safety food science etc
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing food safety & quality programs
  • Minimum 3 years of experience directly managing teams
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and can create documents such as standard operating procedures safety rules label mixing instructions
  • Strong knowledge in FDA Food Safety regulations and GFSI certifications (ex. SQF)
  • Exhibit excellent critical thinking skills leadership skills lead by example
  • Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Be a self-starter and a problem solver with strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Experience building or using digital record keeping platforms is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as needed to support effective implementation of FSQ programs
