The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical developmental intellectual mental health challenges those who have suffered a trauma and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Therapist Qualified Mental Health Professional who exemplifies that mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference.

Schedule Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm and one later evening

What will you be doing

• The Therapist QMHP is responsible for the provision of counseling skills training and case management services to a caseload of clients who are diagnosed with persistent mental illness.
• Services are provided in family and individual treatment settings with both adult and children/adolescents. Services are offered both onsite and in the community or client home
• Therapists are expected to work with a team of service providers within the agency and throughout the social service community to ensure that all needs of clients are met

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled work hours including evening hours
• Provide effective individual and group counseling
• Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirementsof program funders and applicable administrative rules
• Provide case management services as medically necessary
• Complete required documentation (IMCANS documentation includingencounters consents) on a timely basis
• Meet minimum service provision/productivity requirements as assigned byDirector based on specific job duties
• Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings
• Maintain client files according to agency policy
• Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues
• Abide by AIDs Code of Ethics policies and procedure
• Schedule and conduct treatment planning meetings asnecessary
• Obtain input from consumers and other stakeholders on how to improve serviceprovision
• Provide outcome evaluation data to supervisor
• Maintain a positive professional working relationship withagencies and other stakeholders
• Maintain a positive professional working relationship withcoworkers within AID
• Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining publicentitlements as necessary
• Participate in agency committees as assigned
• Participate in clinical supervision a minimum of one time permonth
• Provide outreach services to clients who are unable or unwillingto engage in office-based services

What will you bring to the table

Education: Masters degree in a human services field

License/certifications: License preferred (LPC or LSW)

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred

Physical: Navigation of stairs on a regular basisEquipment:

• Computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
• Copy machine
• Telephone with voice mail system

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to work evening hours
• Use of personal automobile
• Maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AIDspersonnel policies
• Maintain valid Illinois drivers license
• Meet/maintain driving record standards as defined by AIDs insurance carrier.
