Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Though this is not a supervisory position theSeniorManufacturingEngineerwilltake on a lead role from the perspective of manufacturing engineeringwhile assigned in direct support to projects and programs to help facilitateNew Product Launches (NPIs)andwhen not in direct support to a specific program/project--willhelpguide a team of manufacturing engineersand industrial engineersthroughContinuous Improvement activitieswork cell developmentand the integration of automated assets. Key capabilities critical to the success of this role and the overall project include havingfamiliarity withRoot Cause Analyses andKaizen events;value stream / process mapping andload balancing programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Additive Manufacturing (AM)principles and processes. Additionally this role willguide support and execute thedevelopment of Production Routings and BOMsin SAPdisposition of defective materialas well asexecutingEngineering Change Management (ECM)activitiesthroughcoordination with the Project Lead and Program Manager (PM).

An example of tasking would be as follows:

Primary taskings for this position include supporting the production launch of products while directly assigned to specific programs. Additional taskings will include the guiding the evolution of production cells layout modeling direct support and planning for integration of industrial automation in support of fabrication and assembly operations (including configuration and redeployment of assets) supporting engineering and production staffing/labor estimates during proposals; draft site-level procedures conventions and practices pertaining to Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering processes and standard; review and approve work instructions andconduct cross-functionalcoordinations withthe designengineeringteamsproduction scheduling quality control andother leadershipforfabrication;andreview of critical processesas definedby military standards specifications Technical Orders (TOs) Technical Data Packages (TDPs)and contracts.

Required Skills:

• 10 Years in a cross-functional engineering roleand familiarity with Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes.
• 5 years of experience inmajor assembly operations.
• 5yearsofexperience in an industrial metal fabrication environmentincluding machining of parts from billetsheet metal fabricationandmechanical assembly operations withbasic familiarity with metals material properties
• Experience in technical writing and development ofdetailedwork instructions for assembly and reworkoperations.
• 10 YearsExperienceusing 3D CAD programs(PTC Creo preferred)to createproduction drawings from model.
• 5Yearsexperience in Tooling & Fixturing Design and Development.
• Familiarity with and ASME Y14-seriesstandards(includingY14.5GD&T)and experiencereading and interpreting assembly drawings.
• 10years experiencein Production Cell layouts value-stream mapping andline balancing
• 5 years ofExperience inapplyinglean manufacturingprinciplesleading Kaizen events and development of PFMEAsduringproduction process planning
• Must be a US Citizen with ability topass acriminalbackground checkand gain a Secret Security Clearance through the Department of Defense(possession of anactiveDoD Secret Clearance preferred)

DesiredExperience &Skills:

• 7yearsof experience as an engineer inaerospace and/ordefensemanufacturingindustrypreferably with MRO operationsand/or production ofmilitary A/C.
• Experience developing manufacturing plans in accordance with SAE AS9100 SAE AS6500 ISO9001 and/or IEE 15288; and conducting capacityanalysis.
• Experience leading PFMEA Development and Continuous Improvement activities(i.e. Kaizen events etc.)
• 5 years of experience in the deployment and redeployment of Universal COBOTs in direct support of humans during fabrication and assembly production operations
• 5 years of directExperienceinstallingor redeployingPLCs(-Bradley Rockwell or Siemens etc.)and familiarity withIEC 61131-3 standards
• 5 years of experience in the deployment and redeployment of COBOTs in direct supportof humans duringfabrication and assemblyproduction operations
• Experience using ERP platforms to generate production routings(SAP S/4HANA preferred)
• Experience using PDMsuites(Windchill preferred)to manageproduction process documents
• Familiarity with National Industry Standards such as ASME ASTM SAE standards MIL-STDsMIL-HDBKsand Technical Orders (TOs)in regards tofabrication assembly testing proceduresandconformancerequirements(Ability to Reference Interpret and integrate into detailed work instructions)
• Ability tolift upto40lbs.
