Job Summary
Toolmaker / Mold Maker
1st Shift - Monday Friday 6:30 am 3:00 pm Overtime Available
CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments throttles marine products and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
- Experience in running / working knowledge of Tool Room Equipment such as:
- CNC Vertical Milling machine (i.e. Hurco Mori Seiki Haas) or a manual Bridegeport
- CNC sinker EDM Machine
- CNC Lathe
- CNC Programming knowledge a plus
- CNC Setup/Operator of Vertical Mills / Latch a plus
- Ability to read engineering piece part prints have mathematical skills and measuring skills
- Experience in building small to medium size precision Diecast Dies and Plastic Injection Molds from tooling drawings and piece part prints is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot mold problems and make corrections is a plus
- Ability to make replacement inserts for molds is a plus
- Ability to build fixtures for manufacturing assembly machines is a plus
- Knowledge of trim dies is a plus
- A minimum of 3 years experience
Minimum Skills Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Ability to move around equipment. Such movement may include but not be limited to bending leaning twisting placing arm(s) over ones head in order to evaluate / analyze set up and operate equipment in Tool Room Department.
