Position Summary:
The ETF Product Development and Launch Management role reports to the Head of Global ETFs and Funds and manages the ETF product development and launch process. The incumbent has primary responsibility for the development and launch of NTAMs ETFs. The role draws upon extensive product-management and development knowledge to achieve product-related goals (ii) leads and/or supports collaboration with other key stakeholders and (iii) encourages professional excellence and growth among members of the ETF Product Development and Launch team.
Major Duties:
Owns the end-to-end ETF launch process from approval to market launch
Develops and manages critical path timelines for each ETF launch
Ensures effective coordination amongst all stakeholder groups throughout the product-development life cycle
Ensure that all individual services necessary to satisfy a funds investment operational and administrative requirements have been identified resourced qualified and integrated into a comprehensive coordinated whole
Translate approved ETF concepts into implementable fund structures
Develops qualifies and manages the Fund Governance docket in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g. NTAM Executive Management Fund Counsel Trustee Counsel NTAM Legal Adviser and Fund Compliance and Fund Admin.)
Build and refine a repeatable ETF launch playbook helping to standardize launch workflows
Ensure alignment across Strategy Product Management and Capital Markets for all launch activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support the Marketing and Sales teams as it relates to the investment and administrative properties of NTAMs ETF products including in relation to competitive peers
Coordinate with FOO and Fund Compliance for the qualification and pricing of services to be provided by JP Morgan (i.e. fund accounting fund administration regulatory administration custody and index receipt agent)
Coordinate with FOO ETF Capital Markets ETF Marketing and Adviser Compliance as appropriate with regards to the qualification and pricing of services provided by Foreside
Knowledge:
In depth knowledge of the asset management business and investment products (including foreign jurisdictions)
Direct ETF launch experience at a major asset manager
Strong business execution and management skills
Well versed in the rules and regulations governing the investments administration operations and offering of ETFs in the US market and is a seasoned manager of supporting staff
Strong practical management skills: ability to set and prioritize goals problem solve and course correct
Thought leadership and collegiality: the ability to engage with other committed professionals to contribute substantively to the development and pursuit of shared goals to advocate for ones own views while also respecting those of others.
Persuades managers and leaders to act and/or negotiates with external partners/vendors/clients
Experience:
At least ten years experience managing ETFs (or the equivalent)
Bachelor degree is required; Master in Business and Administration and/or CFA is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple related teams setting departmental priorities and allocating resources to align with business objectives
Investor-centric focus and entrepreneurial experience is also highly valued.
Salary Range:
$164600 - 288000 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
