The Engineering Leader - Reliability will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining component and turbine reliability models to support fleet issue resolution service contract modelling and new unit turbine design. The team will analyze and fuse data from multiple sources including SCADA service records and field performance data to generate actionable reliability insights for both installed turbines and new products. This leader will work closely with Services Systems & Design Engineering Fleet Performance Management and Root Cause Analysis teams to improve fleet productivity support service planning and ensure reliability and availability requirements are incorporated into turbine designs. The role requires strong technical leadership sound engineering judgment and the ability to connect field data and statistical analysis to business and product decisions. The leader will also be responsible for building team capability setting priorities and ensuring high-quality execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Lead a team of reliability engineers and analysts responsible for component and turbine-level reliability modelling in support of fleet issue resolution service contract modelling and new unit turbine design.
- Set team priorities assign resources and provide day-to-day direction across multiple concurrent reliability fleet support and product development activities.
- Guide the development and maintenance of reliability models used to support fleet performance improvements product decisions and new turbine development.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance for underwriting component failure rates used in cost models for service contracts lifecycle planning and commercial assessments.
- Drive the development of effective monitoring strategies for component failure rates across the installed fleet.
- Lead the teams support for analysis of turbine visits downtime events and field failures in support of fleet productivity and availability improvement programs.
- Work closely with Systems Engineering and design teams to ensure reliability and availability requirements are incorporated into new turbine designs.
- Establish expectations for analytical rigor model quality data integrity and clear communication of technical findings.
- Develop engineering talent coach team members and attract new talent to build a strong and sustainable organizational capability.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for other engineers and stakeholders across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability methods tools reporting and team operating processes.
Must Have Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Statistics Data Science or related STEM field from an accredited university.
- 5 years of experience in reliability engineering fleet performance product support systems engineering or a related technical field.
- First experience leading project or functional engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles failure mechanisms and statistical analysis methods.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in wind turbine engineering renewable energy or power generation.
- Experience with reliability modelling methods such as Weibull analysis survival analysis failure rate estimation or warranty/field reliability analytics.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams that develop scalable data pipelines analytics tools or software applications to support engineering decision-making and operational insights.
- Understanding of turbine systems component failure modes and field service processes.
- Experience supporting root cause investigations and translating field data into actionable engineering recommendations.
- Experience providing reliability and availability assessments during product design or new product introduction processes.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to simplify complex topics for non-expert stakeholders.
- Track record of improving engineering processes analytical tools or reporting methods.
- Demonstrated ability to work across functions and influence technical decisions with data-driven insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced degree in Engineering Reliability Statistics Data Science or related field.
