Job Summary

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a full-time veterinarian to support animals and the community through spay/neuter surgery vaccine clinics and providing care for homeless animals in our shelter. Theyllwork with an amazing team of veterinarians who practice a culture of mentorship training and support for each veterinarianreports to a supervising veterinarian and will either work at our Racine Campus or split their time between our Racine Campus and our Kenosha Campus depending on the candidates experience and organizational needs.

Key accountabilities
- Performing high-volume high-quality safe spay/neuter surgeries for shelter and public animals
- Perform other surgeries as needed for shelter animals
- Ensuring safe effective and efficient medical processes from check in to discharge including follow up
- Vaccinating animals and providing quality medical screenings
- Monitoring the daily health of client and shelter animals
- Providing medical information to clients and answer questions as needed
- Develop and implement treatment plans as needed for animals in shelter and foster
- Train and support any WHS team members in all aspects of patient care and efficient/safe clinic practices while maintaining a professional and positive approach
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- DVM degree and license required; high volume spay/neuter or shelter medicine experience preferred; mentorship and training provided
- Ability to partner with clients staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds

- Ability to navigate emotional aspects of animal welfare work
- Able to successfully meet the physical demands of the job which include stooping kneeling crouching crawling standing walking pulling lifting grasping and repetitive be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Hiring range:$95k 120k
