About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
The Career Advisor provides comprehensive learner-centered career services to undergraduate students graduate students and alumni across Northeasterns global network. This role integrates individual counseling experiential learning design and strategic programming to support learners in designing meaningful career pathways.
The Career Advisor will manage one or more industry-focused career communities (e.g. law healthcare business technology social impact etc.) and develop and deliver targeted programming and resources aligned with labor market trends and students interests. Depending on background experience or interest the advisor may provide specialized coaching in areas such as graduate or law school preparation.
A key component of this role includes designing and delivering experiential learning initiatives including industry treks and other immersive programs to prepare students for success in the workplace. This position blends high-touch advising with scalable program delivery data-informed decision-making and innovation in career education including integrating emerging technologies and AI tools into the career development process (e.g. assessments job search strategy application materials interview preparation and labor market analysis).
The Career Advisor may supervise student Career Peer Ambassadors and serve on departmental or divisional committees (e.g. marketing career readiness curriculum data co-op readiness assessment or technology initiatives).
This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office) with occasional evening and weekend programming.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Provide the minimum education experience and skills required to perform the job successfully.
Masters degree in Higher Education Counseling Career Development or related field preferred.
13 years of experience in career advising experiential learning workforce development or relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends and job search strategies.
Experience designing and delivering workshops events or experiential learning initiatives.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Comfort working with data and technology platforms; familiarity with AI tools and their application in career development strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with and supporting a variety of student populations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Career Advising & Coaching -
Provide individualized and group career advising to undergraduates graduate students and alumni and utilize differentiating approaches to meet a variety of students needs including those with unique abilities international non-traditional first generation students of color and LGBTQ communities.
Guide learners through career exploration industry research job and internship search strategies networking interviewing and graduate/professional school planning with potential focus on law school coaching.
Utilize assessments and career development frameworks to support informed decision-making.
Integrate labor market data engagement metrics and AI-enabled tools into advising practice to enhance learner outcomes.
Career Community & Program Management -
Lead and manage designated industry-focused career communities.
Design and deliver workshops panels networking events and experiential learning programs (e.g. industry treks law school focused programming graduating senior and co-op readiness engagement programs) that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
Liase with a college or student affairs department(multicultural centers athletics honors etc.) by building relationships with faculty and staff.
Maintain and curate digital career resources through uConnect or related platforms.
Build relationships with employers alumni faculty student organizations and professional associations to inform programming and expand experiential opportunities.
Communicate with students via portal email faculty to promote career programs.
Use engagement metrics and outcome data to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
May supervise and mentor Career Peer Ambassadors who support outreach and career coaching.
Departmental & Divisional Engagement -
Serve on internal committees (e.g. marketing assessment Co-op and career readiness initiatives curriculum technology/AI integration).
Contribute to signature department events (Career Fairs orientations networking events etc.).
Collaborate across units to support equitable access to career and experiential resources for diverse learner populations.
Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on labor trends experiential education best practices and emerging technologies.

$53615.00 - $75728.75With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
