While steam turbines themselves are CO2 free they also enable traditional combine cycle plants to reduce carbon emissions through carbon capture capabilities.

Our Sustainable Steam Solutions Engineering team develops and designs highly efficient turbomachines and seeks new talents to join. Latest engineering sciences and disciplines integrated with digital technologies are key competencies we are looking for. The NPI Delivery Shells/Casings Mechanical Component Engineer within the Steam Turbine is responsible for designing the High and Intermediate Pressure Casings which enable world-class performance and reliability. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety and detailed mechanical component expertise to design the critical stationary component within the turbine.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute with minimal guidance the analysis design test and/or integration related to assigned components assemblies or process systems that meet business standards practices and procedures and meet the product/program requirements for New Product Introduction (NPI) Order-to-Requisition (OTR) and Readiness-to-Serve (RTS) activities for new units and aftermarket services

  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Product Definition/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers

  • Lead the solution of complex technical problems to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs- conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

  • Utilize Lean tools to improve current business products and processes

  • Concurrently work on multiple projects monitoring and communicate progress and quality and ensuring schedule requirements are met

  • Implement innovative analysis design development concepts or process and system solutions while taking manufacturing technology productivity and quality into consideration

  • Followrigorous NPI Tollgate ProcessfromConceptualDesignthru fieldvalidationforall high-pressure shells and casing component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations

  • Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities i.e. lifting and transportation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegree inMechanical Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Someexperience in designing turbomachinery components

  • Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design including material properties statics strength of materials fluid dynamics lifing methods related to fatigue and creep

  • In case of being a GEV QTC employee you must currently occupy the same sub-level or one prior as the proposed sub-level for this position.

  • Demonstrated clear thinker with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems

  • Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks

  • Familiaritywith the full manufacturing process including: casting fabrication machining and factoryassembly/ testing practices specifically as applied to powergenerationequipment

  • Tools/software knowledge: NX ANSYS microsoft business tools (word excel etc)

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $89300.00 and $148700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
