Technician Sr. Quality - Metrology
Job Description
Perform listed quality assurance duties and responsibilities to provide support for manufacturing and engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex set-ups and inspections of castings fixtures machined parts and tooling on a CMM
- Create measuring programs for new parts and update the revision changes.
- Complete layouts on new parts and revision changes.
- Develop or assist in the development of inspection procedures and to ensure that required specifications are understood by all.
- Enter and update qualification status of production parts.
- Provide input into improving existing inspection procedure to save time prevent production of defective product or in any other way improve the quality level of product shipped.
- Support the engine and product lines with prompt problem identification and resolution using the established model.
- Work with all necessary departments to obtain solid problem resolution
- Collaborate across departments to ensure that information and data transfer effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
- Works with engineering and manufacturing engineering to optimize measurements of critical features and tightly toleranced machined parts.
- Work in safe and healthy manner strictly following all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a neat clean orderly work area.
- Complete company provided training.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to bend twist turn kneel squat and climb.
- Stand and walk up to eight hours per day.
- Work safely around moving equipment power tools and industrial vehicles.
Skills and Knowledge
- High School degree or equivalent. 2 year degree preferred.
- 3-5 yrs experience with inspection operation and programming of specialized inspection equipment including CMMs (Zeiss Calypso Preferred) and Vision Measurement Systems
- Experience with Faro arm
- Proficient computer skills (Excel Outlook Word PowerPoint)
- Ability to use measuring tools (Height Gages Micrometers Calipers etc)
- Ability to interpret features dimensions tolerances and notes and GD&T callouts represented on engineering drawings (blueprint and document reading)
- Ability to operate all critical measuring and testing equipment.
- Must be able to travel for extended periods of time for training.
Base Pay Range:
$27.25 - $32.69Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship will not be provided. To qualify for this position former employees must be eligible for rehire and current employees must be in good standing.
