The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Long Range Radars (LRR) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support the GLOBUS program. This position is located on-site in Woburn MA and offers a unique opportunity to join a small cross-disciplinary team of Systems Software and Integration Engineers. This team is responsible for investigating software and hardware defects and identifying performance enhancement opportunities for a deployed radar system.

What You Will Do

You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities:

• Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.

• Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.

• Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.

• Presenting plans designs and system performance to peers internal leadership and external customers.

• Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience with system concepts such as detection discrimination track and/or signal processing algorithms.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.

• Experience working with tools such as Jira and DOORS.

• Strong communication technical writing oral presentation and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and lead the development of technical solutions to challenging requirements.

• Proficiency in Matlab and the MS Office Suite.

• Experience with the development and coding of system models algorithms test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance

• Experience with system level requirements development documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
