As a Associate II Production Planning supporting Alcons manufacturing site in Belmont CA you will be trusted with maintaining material schedules to support production control managing material flow and addressing shortages. You will use your expertise in supplier processes and production to alert authorities to potential issues.
In this role a typical day will include:
- Maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control
- Compiling records on material quantity cost and type received and status of shipped in stock or in production.
- Supporting the flow of materials parts and assemblies within or between departments according to production and shipping schedules
- Determining possible and actual shortages and initiating corrective actions
- Using knowledge of supplier processes production procurement and engineering to alert authorities regarding potential problems and reviewing the master production schedule to determine shortages
- Estimating and logging production rates and time expenditures
- Establishing sequence and leading time of each operation to meet shipping dates
- Handling direct material buying and executing long-term supply chain strategies
- Monitoring production to ensure promised delivery dates are met
- Generating progress reports on schedule status and keeping records of completed orders
- Taking appropriate action to expedite materials
- Adhering to GxP regulations by following SOPs maintaining accurate documentation ensuring quality control and completing required training
- Meeting individual job requirements and contributing to overall compliance
- Committing to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
- 3 Years of Relevant Experience
- Prior experience with inventory control and materials purchasing
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
- Proactive and able to maintain a strong sense of urgency to ensure inventory is available to keep operations running
- Schedule: Monday Friday 6:00 AM 2:30 PM (Eligible for paid overtime)
