Deputy Director for Creative Content

About the Role

Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. We are seeking a full-time Deputy Director for Creative Content to join our communications team. This is a managerial role that will oversee the ideation and drafting of digital content capable of breaking through an increasingly fragmented and fast-moving new media environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Creative Director in managing a multidisciplinary team responsible for translating messaging and policy priorities into compelling accessible narratives tailored to diverse online audiences
• Identify and execute creative opportunities for real-time viral content tied to news cycles and cultural moments
• Establish strong processes and editorial standards to guarantee efficient workflows across the Creative Department as well as message and tone consistency in all outputs
• Draft and storyboard content that is adaptable for every type of new media platform including non-traditional online spaces capable of reaching audiences who dont frequently engage in politics
• Collaborate with team members responsible for content production (videographers editors etc.) to ensure content drafts are compatible with the desired production outputs

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in political communications digital media or a related field
• Exceptional writing skills and strong editorial judgement
• Fluent in new media platforms social media Reddit Substack and others
• Deep familiarity with the evolving digital media landscape including video trends and platform-specific best practices.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to balance speed with quality in a rapidly adapting political environment
• Willingness to work nights and some weekends
