Maintenance Technician I

• Perform general maintenance and manual labor including cleaning stalls fencing setup landscaping and debris removal
• Assist with setup and takedown for agricultural events and activities
• Operate equipment such as tractors loaders and mowers for field work and material handling
• Complete basic repairs and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance on facilities and equipment
• Conduct routineinspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Maintain clean safe and functional facilities including barns and outdoor areas
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with university regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Aptitude and/or relevant experiencein maintenance facilities or agricultural work
• Valid drivers license to perform essential job responsibilities such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials
• Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and plan solutions.

Working at the Bastian Agricultural Center is a physically active fast-paced job that takes place largely will be exposed to all Utah weather conditions including extreme summer heat winter cold rain and snow. The work environment includes dust pollen noise from machinery and odors associated with agricultural facilities and livestock.
This role requires constant physical movement. You will spend the majority of your shift on your feet walking bending lifting and carrying heavy items.
The facility supports a busy schedule of community and national events and agricultural activities requiring adaptability and the ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.
Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly stand bend or kneel for long periods and work in extreme heat or to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments. Ability to work in conditions that may include dust noise odors and varying weather
