The opportunity

Within EY-Parthenons Strategy and Execution sub service line our Software Strategy Group(SSG)provides investment and acquisition guidance (including commercial product and technology diligence) strategy/value creation and transaction advisory services to companies and investors in thesoftwareeconomy. EY-ParthenonsSSGteams have completed hundreds of successful projects and provide a unique capability to help companies make critical decisions and complete successful transactions.

SSGteam members conduct primary and secondary research synthesize and analyze data build and test hypotheses and deliver strategic advice to our clients to help them make informed decisions. We have developed the models industry contacts benchmarks and methods designed for thesoftwareeconomy. Additionally SSG works with internalManagingDirectors who have been CTOs and CEOs in early andlate-stagesoftware companies. The combination of theManagingDirector team ourConsultants DirectorsSenior Directors and Partners/Principalswith deep software expertise provides a unique opportunity for you to learn from the best in the field.

Your key responsibilities

As aSenior Directorwith EY-Parthenons Strategy and Execution Software Strategy Groupyou willact as the primary client contacton EY-Parthenon teams and are responsible for translating client needs into project tasks and deliverables. Senior Directors manage day-to-day problem-solving and team analytical activities and serve as key liaisons between consulting team members EY-ParthenonPartners and our clients. Senior Directors are also responsible for mentoring inspiring and developing team staff. Additionally Senior Directors support the growth of the business by working alongsidePartners on new opportunities with potential clients including preparing for and participating in pitch meetings creating proposals and working on the sale process.

Our teams work on a variety of client issues. The range of assignments includes developing long-term strategies for organizations evaluating the potential acquisition of businessesdeveloping new marketing channel strategies reducing operating costs and evaluating new business ventures.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Play a leadership role in helping grow the EY-Parthenonbusiness.

  • Define the objective and scope of strategy engagements and client deliverables in consultation with thePartner.

  • Lead teams in the execution of both due diligence andvalue creationengagements.

  • Possess a combination of client-oriented consulting skills product andsoftware economycentric industry experience and quantitative analysis and finance expertise required to execute sophisticated engagements.

  • Drive business development activities in key sectors and internally across the broaderorganization.

  • Manage develop and mentor junior team members at the Associate Senior Associate Consultant andDirectorlevels.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients.

To qualify for the roleyou must have

  • A bachelors degree with outstanding academic performance and 8 years of related work experience;or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experiencepreferably with technology-oriented clients or experience in a software or technology company in a product or R&D focused role.

  • Experience managing M&A strategic diligence projects in complex environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams on complex assignments and develop individual team members.

  • Strong quantitative skills to supervise data analysis interpret output and generate insights.

  • Ability to make detailed assessments of industry products markets competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Proficient in the English language including the ability to listen understand read and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally in a professional environment.

  • The ability and willingness to travel and workin excess ofstandard hours when necessary.

Ideally youll also have

  • An MBAwith3to6yearsof post-graduate-schoolexperience in consultingpreferably with technology-oriented clients or experience ina software or technology companyin a product or R&D focused role.

  • Expertise in one or more softwaresectors (ERP CRMdigitalmediamobile etc.)

  • Knowledge of how to leverage AI tools in a business setting including Microsoft Copilot.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $250000 to $290000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options.
