We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bereavement Services Administrator to join our Bereavement team at Enable.

Reports to: Bereavement Services Manager

Based: North East Surrey Crematorium

Salary: 15434.50 per annum (London Living Wage - 30869 FTE)

Contract: Permanent Part Time

Work Arrangement: 20 hours per week On-Site

Role Overview:

This pivotal role supports the daily operations of bereavement services ensuring the highest standards of care compliance and operational efficiency. Reporting to Barbara Ward (Bereavement Services Manager) this role is part time 20 hours per week. You will play a key part in enhancing client engagement and fostering a compassionate professional environment across crematorium chapel and cemetery services.

The Bereavement Team are a small team of professionals based at Putney Vale or North East Surrey. The team manages two crematoria three busy cemeteries and two closed cemeteries. The team pride themselves o their work showing professionalism empathy and compassion through everything they do positively supporting the community in times of need.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between bereavement services andthecentral finance team
  • Ensure team-wide understanding of financial procedures
  • Produce and check funeral director invoices.
  • Ensureaccuratereceipt recordingand banking recordsto supportNESCB Treasurer.
  • Handle procurement raising of POs and processing of supplier invoices
  • Test Fire Alarms & maintain accurate records.
  • Assistmanagerin planning and delivering annual events (e.g. open days memorial services)
  • Support all administrative functions related to cemeteries and crematoria
  • Act as Burial Attendance Officeraccompanyingfuneral corteges and overseeing interments
  • Act asChapel Attendant overseeing services ensuringcleanliness ofvenueand checkingaudio visualswith celebrants and funeral directors
  • Provide guidance to visitors on cemetery and crematorium matters
  • Attend memorial services open days and company events/staff meetings.
  • Act as keyholder responsible for locking/unlocking buildings as directed
  • Be willing to work remotelyifrequired
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks within the scope of the role and grade
  • Offer administrative support atPutney Vale Crematorium under reciprocal arrangements

  • Experience working with IT systemswith Windowsweb applications includingOffice365TeamsandOutlook as well as other related softwareincluding Sage Intacct.
  • Possessa high levelof resilience emotionalstabilityand maturitywithacommitmentto achieving andmaintainingstandards of excellenceand experience of delivering administrative support in a busy front-facing and highly pressurised office environment.
  • Possesseffective interactive communication skills with the ability to deal with potentially difficult and sensitive situations in a professional and calm manner without compromising the needs and quality of the an excellent level ofEnglish language both written and oral and able topresent information clearly and concisely.
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately andmaintainconfidentiality throughout thatcomplies withGDPR requirements.
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to workensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Able to work as an effective team playerassistingand supporting other team members and help celebrate the success of the teamand Enableas a whole.

  • Undertake Fire Marshall training ifrequiredand execute related duties if needed

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to a vehicle suitable for use in connection with work duties
