Salary: $21.71 - $26.36per hour
Pay Frequency:24 Pay Periods Per Year
Part Time Sat and Sun 7:00am to 3:30pm and 3:00pm to 11:30pm
Non-Exempt
Lower end of range will apply to candidates who meet minimum experience or have limited years of relevant experience. The higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of relevant experience.
PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Interim Housing team as the Safety Support Associate at the 702 Hotel location.

Since its foundation in 1984 PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention street outreach employment preparation and placement assistance individualized case management supportive services interim housing and permanent supportive housing.

ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the Interim Housing team the Safety Support Associate proactively works to ensure the Interim Housing site is a safe environment for all staff program participants and visitors. This includes monitoring the sites facilities and grounds for any concerns building rapport with participants to engage them in maintaining safety at the site and providing assistance and support when crisis situations arise. This position follows the established low-barrier guidelines to create a safe and stable environment for program participants providing direct client services including harm reduction support and ensuring access to needed supplies. The Safety Support Associate may also assist with other duties at the Interim Housing site including meal distribution cleaning and other general facility needs as they arise.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Assist with ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site using observation de-escalation strategies and ongoing participant engagement.
- Coordinate with the on-site case management team to provide support to the interim housing site.
- Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site.
- Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns.
- In collaboration with supervisors and the case management team respond to interim housing security and/or crisis situations as they arise by utilizing non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies including the team approach.
- Assist with completing reports as necessary or requested.
- Attend meetings and provide input and feedback related to safety and support operations
- Attend and actively engage in all required training sessions as assigned by the company and apply learned skills and knowledge to daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Attend and actively engage in all required staff meetings and events on and off-site (when applicable).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1) year experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de-escalation/nonviolent crisis intervention

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications candidates must:
- Have employment eligibility verification

Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role all candidates must:
- Have reliable transportation
