Role:

MDA is seeking a Junior Systems Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to support our current and nextâgeneration earth observation and remote sensing satellites. The Junior Systems MTS SAR will contribute to the definition design integration verification and sustainment of SAR missions systems and payloads across multiple satellite programs and will work with a world leading team to perform systemâlevel tradeoffs prototype new innovations and drive technology roadâmaps forward.

Responsibilities:

As a Junior Systems MTS SAR you may have a wide range of responsibilities that include:

• tracing customer requirements to conceptual designs and preparing associated documentation
• contributing to decomposition of requirements and interface control documents (ICDs) down to segment system and sub-system levels
• performing technical engineering tasks such as operational analyses and trade-off studies to define system design and subsystem details
• contribute to the development of analytical and algorithmic models in Excel Matlab Python etc. to verify proposed design and de-risk future investment
• participate in hands-on prototype development involving radar hardware to verify proposed designs and de-risk future investment
• participate in the development of prototype embedded software and firmware
• devising solutions for creating and delivering systems and subsystem features
• participating in integration and testing of sub-system and system level features

You will support intermediate and senior engineers in the above tasks and have opportunities for career growth.

Required Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics
• Demonstrated knowledge of Signal Processing concepts
• Experience developing systems involving Antennas and RF
• Have familiarity with:
  • Matlab or similar analysis tools
  • MS Excel for the purpose of engineering analyses
  • C C Python or other programming languages
  • Confluence and JIRA
• Familiarity with modern software development methodology tools and software specification
• Strong technicalâwriting ability (requirements ICDs test procedures risk reports) and presentation skills
• Hands-on individual who can support systems integration processes test systems and resolve problems
• Ability to distill complex problems to fundamentals to solve with analysis similarity or creativity
• Be a self-starter with the ability to perform in a dynamic working environment
• Have a team-friendly attitude and willingness to learn.

While not mandatory candidates will benefit from any of the following:

• Familiarity with FPGAs and VHDL/Verilog development
• Understanding of different types of engineering life cycles for large complex programs
• Familiarity with satellite remote sensing or earth observation

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The salary range for this role is $72000 to 82000 based on experience
