What to expect as a Network Systems Tech

You will provide technical assistance and support for customer owned networks as well as provide a wide range of special services such as network phone and wireless solutions to HCTC customers. You will play an important role in providing customers with white glove service for installation and setup of their networks and equipment. Youll work with customers to recommend sell install setup test and troubleshoot their own networks and devices connected to HCTC internet services in addition to providing customer support installation and maintenance of telecom systems. A basic knowledge of customer premise installation of telecom services and the ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces is recommended to be a successful Network Systems Technicians. Other essential job functions are:

• Knowledge of basic TCP/IP Networking required (Ethernet WLAN).
• Avaya IP Office ESI NEC experience desired.
• Ubiquiti AirMax Unifi Networking desired.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Building trades or related trade experience desired.
• Effective professional and courteous communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple job assignments in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class C Texas drivers license.
• If relocating to Texas from another state or country must have at a minimum a valid drivers license issued by the home state equivalent to a Texas Class C. The employee will be required to obtain a Texas drivers license within thirty days.
• Must maintain a valid drivers license and be insurable via HCTCs standard auto insurance policy procedures.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position that typically works 40 hours per week. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

Required Experience:

IC
