Job Summary

Site Superintendent

Our Client is looking for a Site Superintendent for their recently started 6-storey wood-frame project in New Westminster. Our Client is top General Contractors and Construction Managers for non-market housing in the Lower Mainland. You take over this project early in the parkade structure phase (as the current Superintendent is moving to a project on Vancouver Island in May) and see it through to occupancy. Future projects (dependent on your success and economic factors) will include other 6-storey wood-frame (and occasional concrete) projects throughout the Lower Mainland and possible Vancouver Island or the Okanagan if it fits your lifestyle. There are 2 openings (due to internal promotions) that need to be filled by February and March 2026 respectively.

This GC and CM has been an industry leader in building non-market housing for BC Housing Churches and Non-Profit organizations. They also take on occasional market-housing institutional and mixed-use projects too. They excel at workforce planning and have industry leading tenure displayed throughout their team. They know how to keep they best staff happy and will ensure any gaps between projects are avoided and people are kept busy (and paid) until their next project starts.

Typical Projects
  • Their most common projects are 6-storey wood-frames on underground parkades.
  • Clients are often rental building operators including churches and non-profits.
  • They also handle occasional concretehealthcare and institutional projects.
Key Duties
  • Takeover the project from the current Superintendent (who is moving to the Island) and lead the project from mid-parkade through to completion.
  • Workclosely with the PM and PC to ensure any challenges with consultants blueprints and trades are solved proactively.
  • Help mentor the Assistant Superintendent while empowering them to take work off you plate.
  • Master the project drawings contracts and scopes to pre-emptively solve construction challenges and eliminate scope gaps.
  • Support the safety enforcement and education to ensure a safe and harassment free jobsite.
  • Master the communication with trades and ensure strong trade contractor communication to minimize conflicts on site.
  • Keep focused on the projects quality will keeping the build on schedule.

Compensation
  • Salary:$144000 - $168000 (The Client is not interested in contractor relationships).
  • Annual (end of October) Bonus: Often $20000 - $40000 range (pro-rated for your first year).
  • Car Allowance: $800 - $1000 range monthly.
  • Medical and Dental plan and a Health spending account.
  • Employee and dependent life insurance AD&D CISTD and LTD coverage.
  • 3 Weeks of Vacation.
  • Mobile phone and plan (or an allowance if preferred).
  • The only downside is there is no RRSP matching program.
