Position Overview:
The Commercial Private Banker III Commercial & Industrial (C&I) is responsible for developing managing and expanding a portfolio of commercial client relationships while delivering a high-touch private banking experience. This role focuses on upper and middle-market privately held and closely held businesses and requires a seasoned commercial banker with strong relationship management business development and credit expertise.
The Private Banker III serves as a trusted advisor to business owners and senior executives and works collaboratively with internal partners to provide customized lending deposit treasury management and wealth management solutions consistent with Peapack Private Bank & Trusts relationship-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop manage and grow a portfolio of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) client relationships
- Originate new business through proactive calling efforts networking referrals and centers of influence
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients delivering a proactive responsive and consultative client experience
- Structure underwrite and manage complex C&I credit relationships including lines of credit term loans and other customized financing solutions
- Prepare analyze and present comprehensive credit memoranda and recommendations for approval
- Monitor portfolio performance including credit quality covenant compliance and risk identification
- Partner closely with Treasury Management Private Banking Wealth Management Trust and other internal specialists to deliver integrated client solutions
- Proactively identify client needs and make appropriate referrals to other areas of the bank including Treasury Management Private Banking Wealth Management Trust and specialty lending teams to deliver comprehensive relationship-based solutions
- Identify opportunities to expand relationships through deposits cash management and cross-sell initiatives
- Maintain a thorough understanding of clients businesses industries and financial needs
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies procedures and regulatory requirements
- Utilize the banks Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to document client interactions manage referrals track relationship development and support effective pipeline and portfolio management
- Participate in community professional and business development activities to enhance market presence
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial banking with a strong focus on C&I relationship management (Upper Middle Market)
- Proven track record of originating managing and growing profitable commercial banking relationships
- Strong credit analysis underwriting and loan structuring expertise
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a private bankingstyle relationship-based client experience
- Established network of referral sources and centers of influence
- Experience using CRM tools to manage client relationships referrals and business development activities
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of professionalism integrity and accountability

The approximate pay range for this position is $168812 to $275000 plus an opportunity to earn performance-based incentives. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
