As our Industrial Maintenance Mechanic you walk the line listen for subtle changes in a gearbox scan the HMI for anomalies and keep our packaging equipment running safely and smoothly. Role snapshot
Own the proactive care of production machinery by applying preventive maintenance routines rapid troubleshooting and safe repair practices that reduce downtime and elevate reliability.
What youll do
- Diagnose troubleshoot and repair production-line equipment to minimize downtime.
- Interpret diagrams schematics OEM manuals and engineering specs to guide service actions.
- Conduct scheduled audits across assigned production lines to verify readiness.
- Help curb downtime by coaching operators on routine preventive care and checking compliance.
- Contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of PM routines and their schedules.
- Recommend improvements that enhance safe operation of machinery and equipment.
- Record detailed work orders and findings in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Safely remove and replace defective components using hoists lifts forklifts hand tools and power tools; assess part condition by examining surface and fit.
- Verify dimensional requirements with rules calipers micrometers and other precision instruments; determine if adjustments or part changes are needed.
- Use maintenance resources responsibly including equipment and supplies to complete assigned work.
- Ensure every maintenance and repair activity follows OSHA federal local and plant safety standards.
- Report suspected causes of failure; participate in or request follow-up investigations to define root causes.
- Promote a safe workplace by consistently following facility safety policies and procedures.
- Support PPE policies for employees and visitors alike.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 25 years of experience in equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Strong technical aptitude and patience when dealing with uncertain or variable situations.
- Hands-on skill with hydraulics pneumatics mechanical systems and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Working knowledge of safety practices.
- Comfort with power tools.
- Sound timely decision-making.
- Adaptability flexibility and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing is a plus.
