Job Summary

The Pepperdine University School of Nursing invites applications for clinical and tenure-track faculty appointments to support its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Entry-Level Masters Degree in Nursing Clinical Nurse Leader (ELM-CNL) programs. Candidates must demonstrate a profound commitment to pedagogical excellence and student success. Preferred candidates will possess a documented record of effective instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The School seeks expertise in the following domains: pathopharmacology adult medical/surgical pediatrics gerontology obstetrics behavioral/mental health community/population health and clinical foundations/reasoning. Substantial clinical experience and direct patient care expertise in one or more of these areas are mandatory.

Following admission of the inaugural cohorts of students in Fall 2025 and January 2026 these full-time in-person positions will commence on August 1 2026 at the Malibu and Calabasas campuses. Applications will be reviewed immediately and remain open until the positions are filled.

The BSN and ELM-CNL programs are approved by the California BRN and the WASC Senior College & University Commission (WSCUC). The School of Nursing is currently seeking accreditation of its programs by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Requirements

  • Clinical Faculty: Requires an earned masters or doctoral degree.
  • Tenure-Track Faculty: Requires an earned academic or clinical doctorate.
  • Licensure: Applicants must possess or be eligible for unencumbered California Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Appointments are contingent upon meeting the qualifications delineated in the California Code of Regulations (Title 16 Division 14 Article 3 1425(c)) and obtaining California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approval in the relevant specialty area(s).

All full-time faculty teaching in the nursing program must meet the required qualifications noted in the California Code of Regulations Title 16 Division 14 Article 31425 FacultyQualifications and Changes Section (c)to be hired.

This is a Full-Time Exempt 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $90000 - $190000 per year

The salary for a full-time 12-month professorial appointment for applicants with a doctoral degree will range from $110000 to $190000. Candidates with a masters degree will be appointed as an instructor and can expect a salary ranging from $90000 to $145000 for a full-time 12-month appointment. Salaries will be prorated for individuals seeking a 9-month appointment.

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience market conditions education/training and skill addition to base pay Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitivebenefits package.
