Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is hiring Caregivers Home Health Aides (HHA) Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Personal Care Aides (PCA) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults in Merrillville Lake County Porter County and surrounding communities.

Caregiver Job Responsibilities

Caregivers will:

Assist with personal care including bathing dressing grooming eating ambulation and transfers
Provide companionship conversation and emotional support
Perform light housekeeping laundry meal preparation and organization
Assist with safe mobility using a walker or wheelchair
Provide medication reminders only
Observe and report any changes in client condition
Use a mobile app for clock in clock out and care documentation
Follow infection control safety procedures and agency policies
Maintain confidentiality and professional standards

Caregiver Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Preferred 1 year experience as Caregiver HHA CNA PCA DSP or similar role
Reliable transportation valid drivers license and auto insurance
Ability to pass a national background check
CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain before starting)
Dependable compassionate professional and patient
Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication

Position Details

Position Type: PRN Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible including days evenings overnights and weekends
Pay: Hourly Non-Exempt
Location: Merrillville and surrounding Lake and Porter County communities
Reports To: Staffing Coordinator
