About the Job
Are you passionate about tackling climate change and driving real environmental impact Join our team as aCarbon and Environmental Coordinator and play a key role in advancing our journey toward carbon neutrality.
Reporting directly to the Environmental Performance Manager youll support the implementation of our long-term sustainability strategy while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permits. This role is based out of ourNiagara Falls office and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful measurable environmental progress.
Salary: $60000 - $65000 based on qualifications and experience.
What Youll Be Doing
- Lead research projects focused on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction aligning with our 20-year environmental vision
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to evaluate low-carbon opportunities and their environmental impact
- Analyze and report on environmental and program performance data
- Support the implementation of energy and carbon reduction projects across multiple sites
- Identify and recommend innovative market-ready technologies to improve environmental performance
Carbon & Water Footprint Management:
- Collect and analyze data to calculate Scope 1 2 and 3 emissions
- Collaborate with internal teams to reduce emissions from operations fleets and contractors
- Track utility consumption (electricity natural gas propane)
- Measure and report on water usage and footprint
Funding & Program Support:
- Research and evaluate grants incentives and funding opportunities for sustainability initiatives
Field Monitoring & Compliance:
- Conduct environmental monitoring and sampling in line with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity
- Install and maintain field equipment (e.g. water monitoring tools)
- Review and validate monitoring data
- Support regulatory reporting and provide updates to internal stakeholders
Heres What You Need
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science Environmental Compliance or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental or sustainability roles
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency and decarbonization strategies
- Valid Ontario G Drivers Licence in good standing
- Experience calculating carbon and water footprints or supporting environmental programs
- Hands-on experience with environmental monitoring (groundwater and surface water)
- Familiarity with field equipment such as YSIs pH meters water level meters and data loggers
- Ability to interpret laboratory and regulatory data
- Highly detail-oriented analytical and self-motivated
- Strong problem-solving skills including handling complex technical challenges
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Effective communicator with experience working with government agencies consultants and community stakeholders
- Professional diplomatic and confident interacting with senior leadership and external partners
- Medium-to-high proficiency in Excel and advanced computer skills for reporting data analysis and presentations
