Collins is looking for a motivated self-starter to join ourNorwood MAteam as aSenior Structural Engineer.This candidate will have the opportunity to operate in a technical leadership role for a variety of highway and transit design and load rating projects for agencies including MassDOT MBTA RIDOT RITBA and this role this candidate will be involved with directing and mentoring a team of engineers in leading design tasks for bridges culverts foundations retaining walls and other highway and rail/transit-related infrastructure.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.
- Provides technical engineering expertise to project managers engineers and/or clients to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards codes specifications and design instructions.
- Reviews analyzes and resolves field and/or design issues.
- Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Serves as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Plans schedules conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Provides leadership to project teams and support staff.
- Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.
- Serves as a coach for other project engineers and technical staff.
- Other duties may be assigned.
* Relocation is available
The base salary will be estimated between $150000 - $170000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree and/or masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 15 years or more progressive experience in project engineering.
- Experience in the inspection and/or design of but not limited to bridges roadways railroads marinas and/or ports.
- Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) certification.
