The Role
Reporting to the Technical Support leadership team the Industrial Technical Support Engineer provides highlevel technical support for Linxs industrial coding and marking systems used on highspeed manufacturing lines. This handson engineering role focuses on true machine faultfinding across electromechanical electrical electronic fluid and software systemssupporting distributors remotely and providing targeted onsite assistance when required.
This position is ideally suited for engineers who enjoy diagnosing complex industrial equipment and want high technical depth with reduced constant travel.
Location: Grand Rapids MI or Dallas TX area (Remote)
In this role a typical day will look like:
- Diagnosing complex electromechanical electrical electronic and software faults on productioncritical equipment.
- Providing escalationlevel remote technical support to distributors and customers with selective onsite intervention as needed.
- Supporting industrial printers and coders integrated into automated manufacturing lines.
- Troubleshooting printheads sensors digital and analogue I/O fluid systems and industrial communications interfaces.
- Analyzing RS232 Ethernet and TCP/IP connectivity issues to restore system functionality.
- Collaborating with Engineering R&D and Quality teams to identify root causes and resolve systemic product issues.
- Mentoring and technically developing other support engineers.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent technical experience in Engineering (Automation Electronics Mechatronics Controls or related field).
- Minimum experience supporting industrial or production equipment in a technical engineering capacity (e.g. Field Service Engineer Industrial Support Engineer Maintenance or Commissioning Engineer).
- Proven handson experience troubleshooting electromechanical machinery and embedded control systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC integration digital and analogue I/O sensors actuators and basic ladder logic concepts.
- Experience diagnosing industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet TCP/IP; diagnostic tools such as Wireshark considered an advantage).
This role is not suitable for candidates with first or secondline IT helpdesk support backgrounds. Candidates must have direct experience diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery rather than enduser computing devices.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $52200 - $91400 USD per job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
